Welcome....

The All Ireland Gerontological Nurses Association (AIGNA) recognises that care for older people is provided in a mixed economy of care and the all older people, their families and significant others hold particular views (unique to their experiences) about the quality of care in different care settings.

AIGNA is clear that excellence in quality of care is continuously being strived for by all care providers and that excellence exists across all care settings.

  • The purpose of AIGNA is to promote healthy ageing and well being of the older people through the advancement of excellence in gerontological nursing.

  • The mission of AIGNA is the advancement of gerontological nurses' knowledge, skills and expertise through networking, information sharing and other knowledge translation activities.
